FACTS
Galesburg, Illinois has been designated as the home of the National Railroad Hall of Fame.
The Congress of the United States formally recognized the National Railroad Hall of Fame through the U.S. House of Representatives Resolution #342, which was passed on October 8, 2003 and the U.S. Congressional Senate Resolution #255 which was passed on April 28, 2004.
Induction to the Hall of Fame occurs annually.
The categories for induction are:
(1) Birth and Development Era, 1800 to 1865
(2) Golden Era, 1866 to 1945
(3) Modern Era, 1946 to Present
